Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
The item upgrade lets players increase the level of equippable items like weapons, armor and trinkets within a certain amount. They can be obtained at any upgrader NPC using the appropriate currency.
Slots are used to upgrade components into equipment to gain attributes and bonuses, as well as other effects. Most upgrades are slot-restricted but some are universal.
Rerolling

To upgrade a weapon, you will have to go to the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. You will require one of three Power Dices to do this. The first one is droppable from all monsters 21or more, and the other two are droppable from Giants and Bosses. Each upgrade will cost different amounts of Erons and Minerals. The more powerful an item is, the higher the price.
Weapons have a greater trade value when fully upgraded because they do more damage. There are some weapons that have high trade value even though they are not upgraded because they provide useful stats (e.g. Whistan's Shield is a good shield for FB Sorcs. There are also some exclusive and set items that don't require upgrading since they have minimal requirements or benefits from upgrading (e.g. Naj's Puzzler staff, Goldwrap).
There are some sets that come with set bonuses that add effects when Link wears the entire set. These are useful in certain situations, for instance when exploring the Gerudo Desert or in a dark dungeon. The Desert Voe Set, for example, has a Stealth Up feature that makes it easier to sneak by enemies.
Universal upgrades can be installed on any kind of equipment. These upgrades provide smaller benefits than those that are type-restricted, but they are much easier to obtain. Some of these upgrades can be turned into gems by a jeweler and can be used to upgrade any trinket slot. Other upgrade components are only placed in weapon accessories and offer a small bonus, but without causing more damage.
Requirements
Upgraded items are an important element of enhancing your character performance and effectiveness in combat. Item upgrades can boost an item's base stats, or even add an additional suffix or prefix. The amount of stats that an item can boost is contingent on its rarity. There are upgrades available in raids and dungeons or buy them from vendors. They can also be found as a random drop or looted from other players.
There's no tenable game design solution to the issue of the "not worth it" feeling that some players have about upgrading certain items. In ideal scenarios, the game would provide more details about the upgrade in its compare interface, such as "X stats gained, X stats lost." However, this isn't practical to implement due to the much complexity goes into the process of comparing. There's too little space to perform it in a proper manner in the UI.
Cases gg that checks an item's upgrade requirements before allowing the item to be upgraded is a different solution. This method is suitable for systems with a small number of items that can be upgraded and a simple upgrade dependence. A good example of this is a sword that can be upgraded from Sword +1 to Sword +2. A script could look for the Item Definition attribute for every upgrade, and then change the Item Status to "upgraded" to indicate that the upgrade was valid.
This option is more flexible than the two previous ones however it requires extra code. It is not suited for complex systems.
Another possibility is to allow players to improve their armor and weapons by applying certain improvements. These upgrades, referred to as Reforges by some, improve the stats of the item and reduce its cost. Reforges vary in power however the most powerful ones are the Orb of Transmutation and Orb of Embrace.
Costs
Upgrades can boost the physical strength of gear, its spell power and health (for rings and armor) or add an additional bonus effect to it while in your inventory. You can either craft upgrade components or purchase them from vendors. You can also loot them or drop them from other players or receive them as rewards. Upgrade components can be slotted into weapons, armor and trinkets. They can also be slid to gathering tools. However, the majority of upgrade components can't be repaired or reused, except with the help of an Upgrade Extractor. The exception is glyphs that can be salvaged by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Depending on the type of item, upgrading an item may cost Dilithium or gold. In addition, some upgrades require Flightstones or crests. The amount of Flightstones and Crests needed to upgrade an item is determined by the level of the item. Blizzard also sets a maximum upgrade level. Upgrades to the highest level can be costly particularly when it comes to upgrading PvE equipment.
Upgrades can also modify a weapon's ammunition, or damage die size. They can also change the weapon's special properties like its bulky or operative property, or its hand requirement. Certain upgrades can alter a weapon's appearance.
Before deciding on a purchase before making a decision, you must take into consideration the cost involved in upgrading an item. You might prefer to make use of your gold for upgrading rare items, but don't spend it on ordinary or magical-tier items.
